  • Narrative Portraits Project

Narrative Portraits Project is a mixed media process meant to provoke reflective thought and dreams for the future among incarcerated participants.

For the project, each participant is photographed in their chosen pose and the print is enlarged to a life-sized form. Then, participants engage in creative writing exercises to encourage introspection and imagination. Lastly, participants decorate their portrait with various art materials to create a manifestation of the life they envision.

    Storybook Project

The Storybook Project is a way to connect incarcerated parents and their children emotionally through reading despite physical distance.

For the project, parents who are incarcerated are recorded reading a book to their child. The book is then mailed to the child so that they may hear their parent’s voice whenever they wish.
